I am reinstalling the HP Envy 7155 Driver to a Windows 11 computer and the download for the driver appears to be stalled. The screen is showing "Checking for necessary drivers" for the past 45 minutes. This was the second time I tried installing this driver today. I waited 30 minutes and decided to retry the install.

Hi @San_818_Yi,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Envy 7155 driver installation is stalled during the process on your Windows 11 computer, follow these steps to resolve the issue.
Check Internet Connection:
- Ensure your internet connection is stable. A weak or intermittent connection could cause issues during the download or installation process.
Temporary Disable Antivirus/Firewall:
- Sometimes, security software can interfere with the installation process. Consider temporarily disabling your antivirus or firewall and try installing the driver again. Remember to enable them afterward for your security.
Download the Driver Manually:
- Instead of using automatic installation, manually download the driver from the official HP Support website. Save the driver file on your computer, then run it to start the installation process.
Run Windows Update:
- Ensure Windows 11 is fully updated. Some updates may include fixes that resolve compatibility issues with printers.
Use HP Print and Scan Doctor:
- Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor, a free tool by HP designed to diagnose and resolve printing issues. It can help detect and fix installation problems.
Clear Temporary Files:
- Clear temporary files and any previous HP driver installation files that might be corrupt. Use the Disk Cleanup tool in Windows to clear temporary files.
Restart Your Computer:
- Restart your computer to see if this clears any processes that are hanging or causing the installation to stall.
Try a Different USB Port or Cable (if applicable):
- If you’re installing the driver using a USB connection, try a different USB port or cable to rule out any hardware connectivity issues.
Run Installer as Administrator:
- Right-click the downloaded driver setup file and select 'Run as administrator' to give the process the necessary permissions.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
