Hello, I’ve had my HP envy photo 7855 for about 2 years and never had any problems until today.
Tried printing something documents and seems like the ink cartridge fried itself out somehow automatically received a message saying “Cartridge Problem: Remove and reinstall the indicated Cartridge, making sure it is correctly installed.”
I’ve removed several items and reinsterted. Also went to purchase a brand new cartridge and this message still appears with a brand new cartridge. I’ve looked up related questions and all just say to unplug for 5 minutes and retry.
has anyone else had this problem?

@whythisprob Welcome to HP Community!
I understand that you are facing issues with ink cartridges error.
Do not worry. I will try to fix the issue.
Please perform the hard reset and check for the issue.
-
Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.
-
Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
-
With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
-
Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
-
Wait at least 60 seconds.
-
Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
-
Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
-
Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
-
Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed
Please refer to the below link to troubleshoot the issue.

Hello Praveen,
Thanks for the advice but I did try this way before you replied and unfortunately it did nothing. In fact this made the Cartridge Problem page stay on the screen and made it unable to "hide"/ exit the screen. I called HP Support and the representative said it's basically hardware failure and the only option would be to purchase a new printer.
All in all I can say I am disappointed because I never had an issue prior, so having this one problem causing me to repurchase a new printer after only 2 years is a little frustrating.

I understand your concern. If you have tried the steps already and also an alternative ink cartridge and the issue persists, this is a hardware issue with the printer.
If the printer is out of warranty, I suggest you upgrade the printer. You may visit Hp Store to check the available printers.
Keep me posted for any other assistance.
