@AnneOasis, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Envy 6120e is showing “Load A4 paper” even after you've loaded paper, it’s likely a paper detection or feed issue. Let’s walk through a few steps to get this sorted:
Check Paper Type and Loading
- Make sure you're using clean, unused A4 paper (not curled or wrinkled).
- Load the paper into the main input tray with the print side facing down and the short edge forward.
- Adjust the paper width guides so they touch the edges of the paper stack without bending it.
Reset the Printer
- With the printer on, unplug the power cord from the back.
- Wait 60 seconds.
- Plug it back in and turn it on. This can reset the paper sensor.
Clean the Paper Feed Rollers
Dust or debris on the rollers can prevent paper from feeding properly.
- Remove the paper.
- Use a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with distilled water to clean the rollers inside the tray area.
- Let them dry for a few minutes before reloading paper.
Run a Printer Status Report
If the printer now detects paper, try printing a test page:
- On the printer control panel, press and hold the Information button (i) until the report prints.
Update Printer Firmware
Outdated firmware can cause detection issues.
- Use the HP Smart app or visit the HP support page to check for updates.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
