@Acaccamisi, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It looks like you're encountering Error 1317 while trying to install HP SmartStream on your Windows 11 machine. This error typically occurs due to permission issues when the installer attempts to create a directory.

Here are a few steps you can try to resolve this issue:

Check Permissions:

  • Navigate to C:\ProgramData\Documents\ and ensure that you have the necessary permissions to create folders in this directory.
  • Right-click on the Documents folder, select Properties, go to the Security tab, and make sure your user account has Full Control.

Run as Administrator:

  • Right-click on the HP SmartStream installer and select Run as administrator. This can sometimes bypass permission issues.

Create the Directory Manually:

  • Manually create the HP SmartStream folder in C:\ProgramData\Documents\ before running the installer again.

Disable User Account Control (UAC):

  • Temporarily disable UAC by searching for User Account Control settings in the Start menu and dragging the slider to Never notify. Remember to re-enable it after the installation.

Check for Windows Updates:

  • Ensure your Windows 11 is up to date. Sometimes, updates can resolve compatibility issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
