Hello @Mike1244,

Thank you for your reply.

Appreciate your efforts. Let's give it one more shot. Try the steps below:

  • Click on http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software13/COL34152/mp-109793-3/PS_AIO_07_C410_140_408-5.exe and install the HP C410 printer back to your computer.
  • In the connection type window, select "Connect printer later" option and complete the installation.
  • Restart your computer.
  • Go to Control panel – Programs and feature – Select all the HP Photosmart printer entries and uninstall them. (You can also use CCleaner or any other programs to uninstall)
  • Restart your computer and check.

Hope that helps. Let me know!

Cheers 🙂

Hello @Mike1244, Hope you are well!

Thank you for joining the HP Forums! I read your post about the error message you are getting after installing the new printer. I am happy to look into this issue for you!

I would like to know where you see this message. Is it appearing on your computer screen while you start up your PC?

Most likely this would be some left over files from your old printer. Try uninstalling the old printer and check. Try the steps below:

  • Go to Control panel – Programs and feature
  • Select all the HP printer entries except for HP Envy 5660 basic device software and uninstall them.
  • Restart your PC.

This should ideally fix the issue. Also, check http://hp.care/2eKxx1F which is another forum thread discussing a similar issue.

Let me know how that goes!

Cheers 🙂

Hi DVortex.  Thank you for your response.  Tried your suggestion  and there are no other HP Printer programs in the Programs file.  Also installed Wise Registry Cleaner, same problem, then tried CC Cleaner, same problem.  About 15 seconds after startup the Windows Installer comes up and tries to install the C410.  Thank you for your consideration of my problem and any suggestions.  Mike1244

Thank you so much DVortex!  Downloading and installing the software and uninstalling it fixed the problem.  Have a good weekend.  Mike1244
