Have gone through all of HP trouble shooting, reinstalled printer software, downloaded HP Smart and still get the following error message when I try to print something. Error: unexpected configuration problem 0x80070570. Anyone else having this problem? Computer is HP system is Windows 11. Printer is connected via wireless. Trouble shooting advises printer is on line and connected with no problems. When I go to devise manager and chick on printer it shows devise is connected and working properly.

Hi @QS46,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Thank you for sharing those details! The error “Unexpected configuration problem 0x80070570” on Windows 11 usually points to a corrupted printer driver or spooler configuration, even if Device Manager says the printer is working. This is a known Windows issue that can occur after updates or incomplete driver installs.

Here’s the accurate HP + Windows fix:

Step 1: Clear Print Spooler and Corrupted Files

  1. Press Win + R, type services.msc, hit Enter.
  2. Find Print Spooler, right-click → Stop.
  3. Navigate to:
    C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS
  4. Delete all files in this folder (these are stuck/corrupted print jobs).
  5. Go back to services.msc, restart Print Spooler.

Step 2: Remove Printer and Driver Completely

  1. Go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
  2. Remove your HP printer.
  3. Open Control Panel > Devices and Printers → Remove any leftover HP entries.
  4. Open Print Management (search for it) → All Drivers → Delete HP drivers.

Step 3: Reinstall Full HP Software

  • Download the Full Feature Software and Driver for your printer from: Official HP® Support
  • Install and restart your PC.

Step 4: Run HP App

Step 5: Test Printing

Try printing from the HP app or Word after reinstall.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!

I have more or less the same issue. Although my Envy Photo 6220 scans documents fine I get the error code 0x80070570 when trying to print pdf-files or docs from Open Office.
Following your advice I can't find "Print Spooler" after hitting WIN+R and typing services.msc.
