Hi @mompuppypower,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The error code UA_404_EB000A9903 when setting up your HP DeskJet 4155e typically indicates a network or connection issue, especially related to the HP Smart app or the printer's registration with HP's servers. Here’s a comprehensive guide to resolve this issue:
**1. Check Network Connection
- Network Stability: Ensure your network is stable. Restart your router to refresh the connection.
- Printer Network Settings: Verify that the printer is connected to the correct Wi-Fi network. You can check this through the printer’s control panel or HP Smart app.
**2. Update Printer Firmware
- Firmware Check: Ensure that the printer firmware is up-to-date. If the printer is not able to update firmware via the HP Smart app, check for updates directly on HP's official website or through the printer's control panel if possible.
**3. Verify Printer Setup
- Reconfigure Setup: Sometimes resetting and reconfiguring the printer setup can resolve registration issues.
- Reset Network Settings: On the printer’s control panel, navigate to the network settings and perform a network reset.
- Re-Add Printer: In the HP Smart app, remove the printer and then add it again. Follow the setup instructions carefully.
**4. Check HP Smart App Settings
- App Update: Ensure the HP Smart app is updated to the latest version. Check for updates in the app store or directly within the app.
- Sign In: Make sure you are signed in to the HP Smart app with the correct HP account credentials.
**5. Printer and Device Connection
- Same Network: Ensure that all devices and the printer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. Sometimes devices on different networks or subnets cannot communicate with the printer.
- Firewall/Security Settings: Check if your network's firewall or security settings might be blocking communication between the devices and the printer.
**6. Troubleshoot Network Issues
- Ping Test: Check if your devices can communicate with the printer over the network. You can perform a ping test from a computer on the same network.
- Command Prompt (Windows): Open Command Prompt and type ping [printer IP address].
- Terminal (Mac): Open Terminal and type ping [printer IP address].
**7. Check Printer Registration
- HP Account: Ensure that the printer is registered with your HP account. You might need to log into your HP account and check the printer’s registration status.
- Re-register Printer: If needed, try re-registering the printer through the HP Smart app or HP's website.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
