I have had this error "Unable to register the printer to your account" Error OW_4XX_OWSWS00001

 

I spent 1 hour on the phone with HP. I created a new account, entered the pin for online access, etc... Nothing worked, and the most frustrating was that (1) I knew the printer worked since it could print error pages, (2) I knew the printer's WIFI connection worked since it could communicate with app and computer.

 

Eventually, I used my MAC to download the latest firmware. https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/closure/hp-laserjet-m109-m112-printer-series/model/30190476

 

I installed the firmware from my computer, then finished setting it up again from my smartphone, and everything worked.
