Hi @Katrina1019,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The error code OXB8222796 on your HP printer typically indicates a problem related to the printhead or ink system. Here are some steps to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:

Troubleshooting Steps

Turn Off and Restart the Printer:

  • Power off your printer, unplug it from the wall, and wait for about 60 seconds. Then plug it back in and turn it on.

Check Ink Cartridges:

  • Open the printer and check the ink cartridges. Make sure they are properly installed and not empty. Replace any cartridges that are low or empty.

Clean the Printhead:

  • If your printer has a cleaning utility, use it to clean the printhead. This can often resolve issues with print quality and error codes.
  • If not, you can manually clean the printhead using a lint-free cloth dampened with distilled water. Be careful not to touch any electrical contacts.

Reset the Printer:

  • Reset your printer to clear any temporary errors:
    • For many HP printers, this involves holding down the Power button and the Cancel button together for about 15 seconds.

Check for Software Updates:

  • Ensure your printer's firmware is up to date. You can check for updates through the HP Smart app or on the HP website.

Run the HP Print and Scan Doctor:

  • Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor. This tool can automatically diagnose and fix many printing problems.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
