Hi @Jjeanbb,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you're encountering a timeout issue while trying to install the software for your HP LaserJet Pro MFP M127fw on your new laptop running Windows 11. This could be due to various reasons such as compatibility issues, network problems, or software conflicts. Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot and resolve the issue.
- Check System Requirements: Ensure that your new laptop meets the system requirements specified by HP for installing the printer software. Sometimes, newer operating systems like Windows 11 may have different requirements compared to older ones.
- Connectivity: Ensure that your laptop is connected to the internet and there are no network issues that might be causing the installation process to time out. You can try connecting via a different network or using a wired connection if you're currently using Wi-Fi.
- Firewall/Antivirus: Temporary disable your firewall or antivirus software during the installation process. Sometimes, security software can interfere with the installation process.
- Compatibility Mode: Try running the installer in compatibility mode for a previous version of Windows (e.g., Windows 10). Right-click on the installer file, select "Properties," go to the "Compatibility" tab, and check the box for "Run this program in compatibility mode for," then select the appropriate Windows version.
- Clean Boot: Perform a clean boot of your Windows system to disable all startup programs and non-Microsoft services that might be interfering with the installation process. Instructions for performing a clean boot can usually be found on Microsoft's support website.
- Driver Installation Only: Instead of using the full software package, try downloading and installing only the drivers for your printer. Sometimes, the full software package may include additional features that could be causing conflicts.
By following these steps, you should hopefully be able to resolve the "Fatal Error: took too long to execute" issue and successfully install the software for your HP LaserJet Pro MFP M127fw on your new laptop running Windows 11.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
