Hello there,

I'm trying to scan from my Hp printer to my MacBook and I'm always getting the error message: Scanner reported an error, the scanner is busy. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the driver with no luck. I've tried unplugging the printer for 30 seconds and plugging it back with no luck. I know it's not a network issue because all my wireless network info is in place. Please help!

Hi @maecesa

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you.

  • Are you able to print from your MAC to the printer?
  • Which application are you using to scan?
  • Try making a standalone copy and check if that works. By this, we can conclude if this is a hardware or a driver issue.

Update the printer firmware

Click here to download and install the latest firmware from your MAC.

Also, check for any software updates on MAC

Click the Apple icon > About This Mac > Software Update and install any available update.

Use the HP Easy Scan app or Apple Image Capture app to scan from your MAC as shown in this document.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
