Error: "Do not use SETUP cartridges"

I am trying to setup my printer for the first time.  I just bought it today and am just now getting to set it up.  After about 11 or 12 attempts at setting it up by myself, I turned it off and on disconnect it from electricity, nothing worked. I spent the next couple of hours searching HP sites.  Now it's your turn.

Whether from the laptop or the printer control panel, the error comes up:  "Do not use SETUP cartridges".  I really don't think HP expected me to buy new cartridges right out of the gate.  I can't do anything to get pass the error.

I really don't know what else to try...  I'll take any and all suggestions.
