Laserjet P1102
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

My HP 3500 MT computers seem to have to trouble with installing drivers for the HP LaserJet P1102, even though the drivers work fine on my hp laptop and will print. Its all fine until it tells me to insert the USB cable, after which it says  "Printer installation failed. A new printer was not installed." I've tried using different desktops of the same model with different versions of windows (8.1 pro, 10 pro) but i get the same error. One more thing to note is that the printer isn't listed in the devices and printers section of the control panel, not sure if that will help or not. Could someone help me into setting up the printer on my desktops?

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

 

Manually launch the installation using the below executable path and then follow the installation screen:

 

C:\LJP1100_P1560_P1600_Full_Solution\HpSetup.exe
