I would like to find a listing of Event Log codes with a real description or explanation?

I am reviewing the printer Embedded Web Server -> General -> Event Log

I can't seem to find documentation anywhere online...

For Example

For officejet products that are deemed return to depot to repair there is typically little to no public access to service documentation.

I appreciate you taking the time to reply.  However this is very poor from HP and prevents research into possible issues to analyse what the printer is detecting.

Very disappointing from HP

Apologies for jumping in unannounced.

Edits - Update the message content -

The warning is related to the Firmware.

Information is based on my experience with a new 9135e and a laser printer document that mentions the F0 error group.

Early Event Log warnings can devolve into errors, critical errors, and the printer hanging.

The solution >> Clear the printer -- Restore All Factory Defaults

Note:  Factory Defaults will wipe out all your previously made settings.

Side Bar:

If EWS does not (yet) open correctly, possibly related to previous hangs or errors,

Restart the computer and log in,

and

Issue a Restart / Reset sequence:  Unplug the printer > wait at least one minute > plug into a standard wall outlet > Boot

Put the printer back on your network via Ethernet and a static / manual IP address for the printer

Use EWS to issue a manual request to update the firmware.

When the source of the errors is resolved, the Event Log should settle into "Info" messages.

Hi @Dragon-Fur,

Thanks for the update.

I have followed your advice

"The solution >> Clear the printer -- Restore All Factory Defaults

Yes, Factory Defaults will wipe out all your previously made settings."

Firmware is updated

2024-03-21_16-02-50.jpg

Still seeing critical/error/warning in the event log. like you advised "Additionally, the Event Log should settle into "Info" messages" so I'll wait.

I have been a systems engineer for 40 years and just think it is pathetic when vendors  expose event log data and give no way to end users to interpret it.

Looks like HP is cutting corners 🙄

Thanks again

@scrjs

You are welcome.

I'm sorry the Restore did not clear the errors.

IF not done,
Were it mine to do,

I'd make sure the printer is connected to the network via Ethernet and a static / manual IP address.

Restart devices, printer, computer(s), router.

Issue a manual check for a firmware update.

If you care to do so, contact HP Support.

Hi @Dragon-Fur

Devices on my network that are static are connected via Ethernet and have static/manual IP Configurations from an address range excluded from DHCP.  This is true for my printer.

I have restarted the printer - no change.

I have issued a manual check for a firmware update which is up to date per screen capture in my previous reply.

I will raise this with HP Support

Thanks for the discussion...
