Event Viewer throws Error 2114 for Fax on Network

Hi,

This error message on Event Viewer (under Administrative Events) just started yesterday. I remember enabling something on printer settings that may have caused it but cannot remember it now.

"The print spooler failed to share printer Fax - HP Officejet Pro 8610 (Network) with shared resource name Fax - HP Officejet Pro 8610 (Network). Error 2114. The printer cannot be used by others on the network."

Does anyone have any ideas on how to solve it?

Hi Steve,

From your described error I would assume another user on your network tried connecting to the Fax - HP Officejet Pro 8610 Queue which may be shared on your home network, a such cannot be accessed as a shared resources as it uses software components locally installed on your PC by the HP Software.

I suggest going to the Control Panel > View devices and printers, right click the Fax - HP Officjet Pro 8610 printer and select Printer Properties.

Within the Sharing tab ensure the "Share this printer" option is unchecked and follow for any difference.
