Hi @mon1mac1,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Generate a Certificate Signing Request (CSR)

  1. Access the Embedded Web Server (EWS) by entering your printer's IP address in a web browser.
  2. Log in as an administrator.
  3. Navigate to Networking > Authorization > Certificates.
  4. Under Jetdirect Certificate, click Configure.
  5. Fill out the required information in the form to generate a CSR.
    • The "Common Name" should be the Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) of the printer or its IP address.
  6. Save the CSR to your computer.

Obtain a New SSL Certificate

  1. Submit the CSR to a trusted Certificate Authority (CA) such as DigiCert, Verisign, or a similar provider.
  2. The CA will generate a new SSL certificate based on the CSR.
  3. Download the certificate files provided by the CA. These may include the identity certificate and any intermediate certificates.

Install the New SSL Certificate

  1. Return to the Embedded Web Server (EWS) of your printer.
  2. Navigate to Networking > Authorization > Certificates.
  3. Under Jetdirect Certificate, select Install a Certificate.
  4. Browse for the new certificate files you received from the CA and upload them.

Verify the Installation

  1. Once the new certificate is installed, restart your printer.
  2. Access the EWS again and navigate to Networking > Authorization > Certificates to verify that the new certificate is active.

I hope this helps.
