Hi everyone,

I’m testing how external webpages load after a recent software update, and I noticed that one particular page is not displaying correctly. It loads fine the first time, but after restarting the system or clearing temporary files, the page sometimes becomes blank or fails to respond.

To check whether the issue is related to caching, DNS, or network initialization, I used a sample external webpage: (edited) The same behavior happens with a few other pages too, so I’m trying to figure out whether this could be related to drivers, network settings, or recent software changes.

If anyone has seen similar behavior or knows what settings I should review, your guidance would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi @emmataylor,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I’m sorry you’re going through this; I understand the concern and don’t worry I’ll help you with this.

To better understand the issue, could you please provide a few more details?

  1. Does the page remain completely blank, or does it show partial content or an error message?
  2. Are you testing in one browser or multiple (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, etc.)?
  3. Did this behaviour start immediately after the software update, or did it appear gradually?
  4. Are you using VPN, proxy, antivirus web protection, or anything else that might intercept traffic?
  5. Does the issue happen on other networks (hotspot, home Wi-Fi, etc.)?

These answers can point to whether it’s browser-related, system-related, or network-related.

A few troubleshooting steps you can try in the meantime:

1. Test the page in incognito/private mode

This disables extensions and avoids cached files, which helps identify if something local is interfering.

2. Clear DNS cache

Run the following in Command Prompt (Admin):

ipconfig /flushdns

Then reload the page.

3. Check if any browser extensions are blocking scripts

Extensions like ad blockers, tracker blockers, or script filters can cause blank pages.

4. Reset your network adapter

You can try the below commands :

netsh winsock reset

netsh int ip reset

Restart afterward.

5. Check for network driver updates

Sometimes a post-update driver mismatch causes unstable loading behavior.

6. Try disabling third-party antivirus

Some security tools block external content after updates until their own modules update or re-initialize.

I hope this helps

Thanks for the detailed response!
To answer your questions:

1. The page sometimes shows partial content and sometimes goes blank.

2. I tested it in Chrome and Edge, and the issue appears in both.

3. Yes, this started right after the recent software update.

4. I'm not using any VPN or proxy.

5. I also checked on another Wi-Fi network and saw the same behavior.

I'll try the troubleshooting steps you suggested and update here if anything changes. Thanks again for the help!
