HP printer F4580
macOS 11.0 Big Sur

Hi there how do I link up my F4580 printer with my recently purchased Macbook Pro. I am running Big Sur 11.5.2 and I can't get them to work together. What do I do? Thank you

@SiobhanC1, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.

I understand you are looking for a printer driver to work on Mac. However, due to its age, there are no drivers available for this printer to work on macOS 11 or later on the HP Support site.

This printer is not AirPrint compatible too.

However, Gutenprint (formerly called Gimp-Print) provides open-source basic print drivers for many printers that would otherwise not be supported in Mac OS X. To see if your printer is supported, go to Gutenprint drivers for more information.

NOTE: Gutenprint drivers are not supported by HP or Apple.

Keep me posted for any other assistance.

Thank you Kumar0307 for your support. I checked the list that you sent me on Gutenprint and my printer is not there so can you recommend a printer similar to my old one which I can transfer the ink cartridges into from this old one because they are new.

Thank you

@SiobhanC1

This model printer is too old and none of the new printers use the same ink cartridges.

You may upgrade the printer to a new one.

Keep me posted for any other assistance.
