HP Smart Tank 7005 All-in-One

Have spent several days attempting to connect a Smart Tank 7005 to both Win 11 laptop and an android phone using home WiFi.

Have been temporarily successful in connecting both and got some printing done then switched printer off. When attempting to restart printing the next day the printer could not reconnect to our WiFi network and so laptop or android could not use the printer.

Our WiFi has been working normally throughout, it provides good signal strength to all devices.

It seems like the printer cannot save or retain the WiFi settings.

Can anyone help?

If you are running a Dual Band network,

  • Check that the router is broadcasting on both frequencies.
  • Printer will not hop from one frequency to another.
  • If possible, create a separate SSID named network for each band -- connect the printer to the frequency / band you want it to use.
  • Try a different channel - see your router manual for information.

What else?

All correct and configured?

Thanks for your detailed reply.

I have dual waveband 2.4 & t GHz WiFi router, both networks having the same name

I have switched off the 5 GHz network and the printer appears to work from Android.

I will next try re-installing onto a W11 laptop and if that works I may rename and restart the 5 GHz network.

Thanks again for your help and all the useful reading you provided.
