Hi @Tee720,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To set up the fax feature on your HP 9020 all-in-one printer, you'll need the printer password, which is typically required for accessing the printer's settings via the embedded web server (EWS) or during initial setup processes. Here are steps you can follow to find or reset your printer password.

Finding the Default Printer Password

  1. Check the Printer Label: Look for a label on the back or bottom of the printer. Sometimes, the default password is printed there.
  2. Printer Documentation: Check the user manual or setup guide that came with your printer. The default password might be listed there.

Resetting the Printer Password

If you can't find the default password or if it has been changed and forgotten, you may need to reset it:

Reset the Printer to Default Settings:

  • On the printer's control panel, go to the Setup menu.
  • Navigate to Printer Maintenance or Tools.
  • Select Restore Defaults or Restore Factory Settings.

Access the Embedded Web Server (EWS):

  • Connect your printer to the same network as your computer.
  • Find the printer's IP address (usually available in the printer's network settings).
  • Open a web browser on your computer and enter the printer's IP address in the address bar.
  • Log in using the default credentials. If the username is required, it is usually admin.

Setting Up the Fax

Once you have access, you can proceed with the fax setup:

Access the Fax Setup Wizard:

  • On the printer's control panel, go to Fax or Setup and select Fax Setup Wizard.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to configure the fax settings.

Enter the Required Information:

  • Provide the necessary information such as your fax number, sender information, and any other required details.

Test the Fax Connection:

  • Send a test fax to ensure that everything is set up correctly.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
