Faxing

all of a sudden, our HP officejet 5255 all in  one  Printer settings i think got out of whack.  When our Landline phone rings now you can hear the Fax machine on it and we are not getting our calls.. Our Printer is set up in another room to our Printer only and the phone line(no phone).  Our Main phone is in the Kitchen area. I looked at the settings on HP Smart(Fax) and could not find anything, but I was kind of afraid to change anything not knowing the culprit. Fax seems to work ok when i test that.
