Hi @Kish81,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you're receiving a "Feature Locked" error on your HP OfficeJet Pro 7720 when trying to turn off auto updates, and you’re not enrolled in HP Instant Ink or any HP web services, you can follow these steps to resolve the issue:
**1. Check HP Account Status
Verify Enrollment:
- Ensure that your printer is not enrolled in HP Instant Ink or HP Connected services. You can do this by logging into your HP account at HP Smart and checking the devices associated with your account.
Unlink Printer:
- If your printer is enrolled, you may need to unlink it from your HP account. Go to the "Printers" section in your HP account settings and remove the printer.
**2. Disable Web Services on the Printer
Access Printer Settings:
- On the printer’s control panel, navigate to the settings menu.
Disable Web Services:
- Go to Setup > Web Services and select Remove Web Services or Turn Off. This will disable any web services that might be locking the settings.
**3. Update Printer Firmware
Check for Firmware Updates:
- Sometimes, updating the printer's firmware can resolve issues related to locked features. Visit the HP Support website to check for and install any available firmware updates for your printer.
Update via HP Smart:
- If you have the HP Smart app installed on your computer or mobile device, use it to check for and apply firmware updates.
**4. Reset Printer to Factory Defaults
Perform a Factory Reset:
- On the printer's control panel, go to Setup > Printer Maintenance > Restore or Factory Reset. This will reset the printer to its original settings, which can sometimes resolve feature lock issues.
Reconfigure Printer:
- After the reset, you will need to set up your printer again. Ensure that you do not re-enroll in HP Instant Ink or any HP web services if you do not wish to use them.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
