There are different kinds of PIN numbers.

The following examples include a bit about the default PIN number and when it might be needed.

For example, the PIN is required when using the Embedded Web Server (EWS) to access Tray and Paper settings.

Search for " PIN "  >> No quotes but do include the "space" before and after the search word.
