I own an HP Pavilion Desktop PC 570 and a HP ENVY 5052 All In One Printer which I bought in Fairfield, CA. They are both 15 months old and perform excellent with one exception: I keep getting HP ENVY 5000 Firmware Update Notification from HP Support Assistant that will not install. This has been ongoing since Nov 2019. The Firmware will download and then launch a separate installer that wants you to check a box that verified your printer and serial number, then click on the continue. You cannot check the box to verify the printer, it won't work, the refresh button does not work. Your only option is to check the continue box. Then a HP popup appears that gives you three choices: 1. Firmware Install complete, 2, Firmware Install failed and 3. I don't know. Regardless which one you select, after you select one, the notification disappears in the HP Support Icon only to return every 2-3 weeks. I have used the HP Print and scan Doctor and HP Network Diagnostics App, both say everything is ok. I contacted HP Support Online and asked them for help. They told me since I live in Angeles City, PI, I have to contact HP Philippines for help. They have no toll free number. My attempts to contact HP Philippines have failed. I then contacted Microsoft. I thought perhaps the problem could be a Windows 10 update problem. They accessed my computer online and then said the firmware was updated. However, the problem is not fixed. What is the solution: Is the Firmware Update I listed the correct update? How can I tell if the Printer firmware is current and correct? Is the solution uninstall and reinstall the printer and let Windows 10 auto detect as there was no software provided at purchase? Please advise, My only other option is to contact Microsoft again. This is not a hardware problem, this is a software problem, and I do not know how to fix this.

Hello,
Please update the printer firmware as follows (network printer only):
- From the printer's front panel display, touch the Wireless icon (
) to retrieve the printer's IP address.
- Launch a web page, then type this address in the address bar and press Enter. The printer's Web interface opens.
- Click Tools tab, and then develop Printer Updates, and then Firmware Updates.
- Click the Check Now button to install the latest firmware update.
In case of need, do not hesitate to contact us.
Best regards,

Thank you for your response. I have not had time to try your suggestion. My printer is connected to my computer via usb. I have never used WIFI printing. However I did look up the process to change from USB to WIFI printing, I will review the process, change over and try your suggestion soon. I'll let you know if there was an update and if it did install. Thanks again.
