Product: HP M254dw
Operating System: macOS 10.15 Catalina

I use off brand cartridges for my HP M254wd and it has worked fine for over a year. Now all of a sudden I'm getting Supply Memory Error message and the printer won't do anything. I have researched this all day and can confirm that my printer must have updated the Firmware to the latest 20201021 and that is likely the problem. I have reset the printer to accept downgrades. Now I am trying to download the correct file for what appears to be the last firmware that didn't block generic cartridges 20200612. I have found readily available files ending in exe and rfu. However, I have a Mac and can't get these downloads to read on my computer. Does anyone have a file for IOS (that I think needs to end in dmg...???) Thanks.

Or any other ideas to downgrade using a mac ios? Thank you to anyone who has run into this and solved the problem.
