HP OfficeJet Pro 9010 series
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

After my printer upgraded to the latest firmware, I have lost the ability to scan to a network folder. I've tried creating another shortcut, but I get the same error. Has anyone else experienced the same problem?

More interestingly, I can no longer view the event log. When going to the web interface, clicking on Tools on top, then Reports and Event Log, I get a System Error. Can someone else test on their printer and verify? I am going to try and downgrade the firmware.

DON'T UPGRADE THE FIRMWARE FROM THE SUPPORT PAGE!

IT WILL BRICK YOUR PRINTER!

This has happened several times to others on this sub. Search for the error code 04304661 and you'll see a few frustrated users who have already wrecked their printers.

Hi,

What exact firmware update did you use?

I personally have an Officejet Pro 9010 Series printer with the latest firmware installed:

Version 2010B is the latest firmware version for the printer, also as I can see on the HP Support page:

Can you share the EXACT firmware Update Utility file name and its source? can you include a screenshot of the Tools tab from the printer page? Be sure not to include its Serial Number in the picture.

Unfortunately, as the printer is bricked, I cannot supply you with any information other than what I'd posted already. My 9015 had auto-updated itself to 2035B a week ago, which was unstable and caused me issues with scanning. I saw the 2010B firmware posted on the website, and I tried to downgrade, when installing it, the firmware update bricked my printer. It only shows a blue screen with an error code 04304661.

I've posted video of the BSOD here.

So just to make sure, you refer to firmware version 2010B, right?

You mention 2035B in your post, but 2010B in the video, these are completely different numbers.

Please unplug ANY cable from the printer.

After 60 seconds plug back only the power cable and make sure it is connected directly to a wall power socket and power on the printer.

If the same persists, if the printer is connected to your wireless network, please temporary power off your router and restart the printer, just to deny any possible cause by the wireless environment.

I would also suggest ensuring your router is up to date as described below:

If the same persists, please contact HP Support in your country to service the printer:

Yes, I started with 2035B, it had problems, and I tried to downgrade to 2010B as seen on the HP support page.

Thanks for the update.

Could you please unplug the printer power from its back, and let it rest for a full hour, then power on the printer and check for any difference.

Please let me know the results,

Shlomi
