I want to downgrade to the previous version because my color laserjet pro m254dw was working with non original hp toner cartridges and after the latest automatic firmware update it doesn't work anymore.
But the printer does not accept any firmware (update or downgrade) while it is not in idle status.
How can I do it?
Can I use the USB Port?
And if not possible, how can I reset it to factory firmware?

@Ashlyme, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
HP does not recommend the use of non-HP ink toners. It may or may not work. HP cannot guarantee its functionality.
Let us perform an NVRAM reset on the printer that may resolve this issue.
- The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may corrupt the device.
- I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.
- In order to access your private messages, click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP community profile, next to your profile Name or simply click on this link: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/notes/privatenotespage
