I can download the Firmware Updater (ver 1828B) for the HP ENVY 5530 e-All-in-One Printer Series. When I open it, I get the Device Discovery screen with my device name, connection and details info. In the lower box, lower right corner I get a spinning gear which doesn't stop so I can't move forward with the rest of the update process. I've re-downloaded the Updater multiple times and can't get past the spinning gear.

Thanks for stopping by the HP community. A very good day to you. I will be glad to assist you and let’s get right to it. Superb description and commendable diagnosis of the issue. It is amply appreciated.
Let me gather some information for better clarity to assist you correctly:
- What is the reason for updating the printer’s firmware?
- Is the printer working correctly?
- Please share a screenshot or image of what is exactly seen?
- Do you get any error messages?
Furnish all the requested information for me to assist you correctly.
Meanwhile, I will be providing a roadmap with some troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue. Let us try these steps:
- Perform a hard reset on the printer as you don’t have access to the router by following directions from this link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-officejet-2620-all-in-one-printer-series/5357283/model/53572... and section “Step 1: Reset the printer”
- Then update the printer’s firmware by following instructions from this link: https://support.hp.com/bg-en/document/c02919168 follow directions from the section "Update directly from the printer" if the printer is connected to a wireless network.
This should nail it for you
.Good luck and keep me posted about the developments. If this helps, please mark this as “Accepted Solution” as it will help several others with the same issue and give the post a Kudos for my efforts to help. Thank you and have a great week ahead. 🙂
