I have updated the firmware but the printer has no more commands only function turns on and off but the computer does not connect

The solution is to download (and install) this package (From HP FTP) which will update drivers AND THE CERTIFICATE:
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/HP_Quick_Start/osx/Installations/Essentials/hp-printer-essen...
The install takes a bit. Let it run, even if it seems like it stalled out!

It is NOT the same as the driver package, Easy Start, or Easy Admin other people are recommending.


If the link comes up blank, try right clicking and saving it. If you install this package and still have trouble, try restarting. Then go about uninstalling your printer and reinstalling USING THIS METHOD ONLY: Apple Logo (Upper Left of Screen)/System Preferences/Printers & Scanners. Then restart your computer.


Easy Admin did nothing. Easy Startup did nothing. 5.1 drivers did nothing. This worked for me!

thanks bryan my problem is more serious i have a shared network with two macs my printer model hp 176n a message asked me to update the firmware on the older mac with high sierra i removed the hp printing system and gave ok to the firmware downloaded official hp that recognized the printer and started the update but from that moment the commands on the hp printer monitor have completely disappeared I see only a yellow light works only on of if you try to restore the command to the firmware installation does not recognize the presence of printer connected in usb .how can I put the firmware back into the printer to make it work again?

my printer has no external usb female socket to communicate with a pen drive. the mac can't find it anywhere because the corrupt firmware no longer transmits the signal of a connected peripheral?

I tried to install your update all right. the mac does not see the printer. the problem is to reboot the printer with the right combination of the printer command keys
