Hi @Curveball1
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The error code 0xB80009F0 on HP printers is typically associated with firmware issues or problems related to the printer’s internal software. This can happen suddenly, and it often points to a communication or configuration problem within the printer or its connection to the system. The error message might indicate that the printer is requesting a specific software update, but it could also be the result of corrupted settings or software files.
Here’s how you can resolve this error and get your printer back to working:
Steps to Fix Error Code 0xB80009F0:
1. Restart the Printer
- Power off the printer completely.
- Unplug it from the power source.
- Wait about 1-2 minutes.
- Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
- Check if the error still appears after the printer restarts.
2. Update Printer Firmware
Often, this error can be caused by outdated or corrupted firmware. To resolve this:
- Go to the HP support website: HP Support.
- Enter your printer model (such as HP DeskJet, HP LaserJet, etc.).
- Check for any available firmware updates for your specific printer model.
- If an update is available, download and install it according to the provided instructions.
Note: Some printers may have an automatic firmware update feature that can be activated through the printer’s settings menu, if applicable.
3. Reinstall HP Software and Drivers
Since the error message suggests an issue with the HP software, reinstalling the drivers may help resolve any software-related corruption:
- Uninstall any existing HP software or drivers from your computer:
- On Windows, go to Control Panel > Programs > Uninstall a Program, and uninstall all HP software.
- On macOS, go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners, select your printer, and click the minus (-) button to remove it.
- After removing the old software, restart your computer.
- Visit the HP support website, enter your printer model, and download the latest drivers and HP software.
- Install the new drivers and software, and try reconnecting your printer.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
