Help!  I forgot my printer's admin password and I can't figure out how to reset it.  I've tried going into the service menu but I keep getting "enter password" and I can't get passed there.  How do I reset my printer's password?  It's the HP LaserJet Pro MFP M148fdw.

• Turn on the printer and wait for the HP logo to appear on the screen.

Access the Reset Menu:

• When the HP logo appears, touch the lower-right corner of the screen. This action should display a keypad.

Enter the Reset Code:

• On the keypad, enter the following code: 12345678. This should access the reset menu.

Select Factory Reset:

• From the reset menu, select the option for Full Factory Reset or Factory Settings. Confirm the selection if prompted.

Wait for the Reset Process:

• The printer will begin the reset process. This may take a few minutes. The printer will restart automatically once the reset is complete.

Alternative Method: Using Embedded Web Server (EWS)

If you can still access the Embedded Web Server (EWS) interface (if you remember other credentials or can bypass the initial login):

Open EWS:

• Open a web browser and enter the printer's IP address to access the EWS.

Login:

• If prompted, log in with any known credentials or try the default ones (often blank for username and admin for password, or vice versa).

Reset Network Settings:

• Navigate to the Settings or Network tab, find Restore Network Defaults, and reset.

Note:

A factory reset will erase all user settings and configurations, including network settings, fax settings, and stored documents. You will need to reconfigure the printer after the reset.
