Hi @Nette12,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I'm here to help you reset your HP DeskJet 2862e printer's password. However, the printer itself does not typically have a password requirement. If you're trying to connect the printer to a wireless network and you've forgotten the network password, or if you're referring to HP Smart app credentials, you can follow these general steps:

For Wireless Network Password:

Check your router: The wireless network password is usually printed on a label on your router. It might be labeled as "Wi-Fi Password," "WPA Key," "WEP Key," or similar.

Access router settings: You can also log into your router's settings page through a web browser and view or change the wireless network password there.

For HP Smart App or HP Account Password:

HP Account Password Reset: If it's your HP Account password you're referring to, you can reset it by going to the HP account sign-in page, clicking on “Forgot your username or password?”, and following the instructions to recover it using your registered email.

Reconfigure the printer: If you need to reconnect your printer to the Wi-Fi, you may need to restore the default network settings on the printer:

  • Navigate to the printer's settings menu, then to “Network Setup” or “Wireless Settings,” and select “Restore Network Defaults.”
  • Follow the setup instructions on the HP Smart app or use the printer control panel if applicable.

    I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
