Help!  I forgot my printer's admin password and I can't figure out how to reset it.  I've tried going into the service menu but I keep getting "enter password" and I can't get passed there.  How do I reset my printer's password?  It's the HP LaserJet Pro MFP M148fdw.  I've tried from the printer control panel, from my iPhone HP app, and from my macBook without success.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I appreciate your efforts to try and resolve the issue. 
 

let's try to restore the printer to the factory default settings-

  1. On the printer control panel, press the Setup button ().
  2. Open the following menus:
    Service
    Restore Defaults
  3. Touch or press the OK button. The printer automatically restarts.

I can't get into the service menu.  I click the wrench, no problem.  I find the service menu, no problem.  As soon as I hit OK to open the service menu, the printer asks for the password.
