MFP M28w printer

How can I do a full factory reset on my MFP M28w as I can't read the previous answer?

I am getting an Error 55 message that I can't resolve.

Thanks,

Simon

Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, we can perform a factory defaults on the printer to resolve the issue

  • The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may corrupt the device.
  • I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.
  • In order to access your private messages, click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Support Community profile, next to your profile Name or simply click on this link: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/notes/privatenotespage

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Thanks, that has worked and I can now print if I use my Personal Hotspot on my phone.

How come the printer doesn't work on a 5GHz Wifi?

How can I switch to my Home 5GHz Wifi?

Thanks,

Simon

Thank you for posting back.

I am glad to know that you managed to resolve the issue.

To get the answer to this question, the printer cannot be connected to a Hotspot connection. You will need a personal wireless router or use a USB cable. Alternatively, you may use the Wifi-Direct option. Refer to - HP printer setup (Wi-Fi Direct)

  • Note: There will be no internet access on the device while using this feature.

To know how to connect it to a wireless network, refer to - Connecting an HP Printer Using Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS)

And, also most HP printers only support 2.4GHz Wireless connectivity.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
