Thank you for joining HP Forums.
I'll be glad to help you 🙂
As I understand you need assistance in printing 11 x 17 format via tray 2,
No worries, as I'll be glad to help you, that said, I'll need a few more details to dissect your concern & provide an accurate solution:
Did you ensure the printer supports the paper size of your preference?
(Click here to verify the same, if you haven't done it yet)
While you respond to that, here's what you need to know:
- Ensure you've installed the latest printer drivers/software: Click here to find and install, if you haven't.
- Select the tray using the printer settings:
-
Please check if the tray selection is set correctly as "Printer Auto Select" or "Tray 2". You can find this setting by
a. right clicking on the HP OfficeJet Pro 7740 printer icon inside Control Panel/Hardware and Sound/Devices and Printers and select "Printing Preferences".
b. when the "Printing Preferences" window pops up, select the Paper/Quality Tap.
c. select the tray by clicking on the dropdown list in Paper Source under "Tray Selection".
-
The same setting can be found under "Printer Properties" if printing from Microsoft word.
Please also note that Tray 2 only supports plain paper type as labelled inside the tray 2 drawer.
