Hello
i have previously posted an issue with this printer. since purchasing the printer printing in colour has been a challenge.
on my main Pc i have installed the printer drivers as requested from the hp drivers website (1911 Full web pack) i have also tried the standard windows driver and the Basic drivers. all of which do not have the print in colour preference.
This previously did not work on 1903 and has been an on and off issue since purchasing the printer. On another laptop this has been fine also running windows 1909 (this on my works laptop where i am an IT admin in application packaging)
i have tried following the steps to reinstall and remove the programdata folders along with the printer drivers via printui /s multiple times and i have also reinstalled my entire windows operating system, from base build (windows 1909)
I am now at a loss and hoping the community may be able to assist me as at present i have a lovely printer which doesn't have a print in colour option (unless i email or send the files to my other PC)
for reference this was my initial post of this issue when i first got the device. i have reviewed and tried the steps multiple times again but to no avail 😞 https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printer-Software-and-Drivers/Unable-to-print-in-Colour-on-windows-10-V...

@GummybearFamily It's weird that the last set of steps did not resolve the issue, however, I've got a few more that should definitely nail it:
Install the built-in print driver over a network connection with Windows 10 or Windows 8.
-
In Windows, search for and open Control Panel.
-
Click Devices and Printers, and then click Add a printer.
-
On the Choose a device or printer to add to this PC window, select your printer, click Next, and then follow the on-screen instructions to install the driver. If your printer is not in the list, continue with these steps.
-
Click The printer I want isn't listed, and then select Add a local printer or network printer with manual settings.
-
Click Next.
-
Select the port to be used by your printer, such as USB001 for a USB connected printer, and then click Next.
-
Click Windows Update, and then wait for the print drivers to update.
-
Click HP, Hewlett-Packard, or Hewlett Packard in the Manufacturer pane, and then click the name of your printer in the Printers pane.
-
Even If your printer is in the list, select DESKJET 990C, click Next, and then follow the on-screen instructions to install the driver.and then continue with these steps.
-
-
Select Add a printer using TCP/IP address or hostname, and then click Next.
-
Select Autodetect from the Device type drop-down list.
-
Type your printer IP address into the text box, and then click Next.
To find the printer IP address, print a Wireless Network Test report or a Network Configuration page.
-
Wait for the computer to connect to the printer, and then click Next to install the print driver.

llo to all
after some thoughts around the previous steps i tried a different approach.
when adding the printer i chose add printer from control panel, then said device i want isnt listed. added a TCPIP printer and specified the ip address, then the important step i said to replace the current driver.
now i have the color tab back 🙂
