Message for Raj 1788

Thank you again for trying to help.  I tried both options you suggested, the Firmware update and the uninstall.  It did not respond quite as per your instructions but I eventually managed both operations but, sadly, the results are exactly the same - only about half the horizontal gridlines print, despite the Print Preview on my PC showing correctly.  I shall revert to my method of formatting the cells, borders, etc.  which does produce a correct version, but which has to be repeated for every page I want to print, which is tedious!  Cannot think of anything else I can do, apart from buying a new printer, and there is no guarantee that it would perform any better, given that we have not identified the cause of the fault.

Thanks for trying!

@sweetbriar,

It looks like you were interacting with @Raj1788, but he is out for the day & I'll be glad to help you out,
I'm the Jeet_Singh & I'm at your service.

As I understand you have already tried uninstalling the printer drivers as well as updating the printer firmware and nothing has resulted in resolving the issue. Don't worry as we have few other steps which should help you resolve this issue.

Just wanted to check what happens when you try to print from other device, are you able to print properly or are you experiencing the same issue.

If you're able to print from other device and having issues only from this device, In this scenario I would suggest you uninstall the printer and then install it using basic drivers.

I suggest you uninstall the printer drivers from the root level and then reinstall them by following the below steps:

  • Press “Windows key” + “r” to get the “Run” window.
  • Type "services.msc" to get Services – Go to “Print spooler” – Right-click and “Stop” the service.
  • Now again open "Run" - Type “spool” and ok - Go to PRINTERS folder - delete everything in that folder.
  • Go to services again - Start the print spooler.
  • Now check for issue resolution.
  • If the issue persists, also try clean installing the printer drivers. Here are the steps:
  • First, unplug the USB cable from the printer if present.
  • Go to Control panel – Programs and feature – Select all the HP DeskJet printer entries and uninstall them.
  • Now go to Control panel – Devices and printer – Select all the printer entries and remove the device.
  • Press the "windows key" + "r" to get the "Run" window open - Type "printui.exe /s" (There is a space between .exe & /) and press enter.
  • Under print server properties, go to drivers - remove any entry there as well.
  • Again, go to the Run window, type – “c:/programdata” – Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.
  • Restart your computer.
  • Please click here to download and install the software.
  • Connect the USB cable if prompted and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

If the issue persists, I would suggest here is to Uninstall the printer drivers and then try installing the Windows built-in drivers for the printer.

Simply turn on the printer and connect the USB cable from the printer to the PC. The drivers will be installed in 2-3 minutes. Go to Control panel - Devices and printers to check the printer entry and make it as default printer if needed.

I hope this should do the trick. Let me know how it goes for further assistance.

Take care now and do have a fabulous week ahead. 🙂
Regards,

Jeet_Singh
