After switching off the printer it won't restart again. The blue bar crosses the screen and the first dot lights up but the start up goes no further.
I have tried disconnecting, removing the ink cartridges and waiting as per a similar query a couple of years ago but to no avail.
I cannot update the firmware as was suggested but as the printer isnot starting the computer cannot find it.
Any further ideas as to what i might do?

Hi @PeterFS,
I'd like to help!
I understand that the printer is stuck on the loading screen.
Try the below suggestions-
Let's try a power reset on the printer
Reset the product
With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
Wait at least 60 seconds.
Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
Reconnect the power cord to the printer.
Turn the printer on. HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.
Also, try updating the printer's firmware -HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware (try updating it from the computer)
If the issue persists, I'd suggest you contact HP in your region regarding the service options for your printer
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
