HELLO, A FEW DAYS AGO I SET UP MY HP WIRELESS 415 PRINTER AND CREATED ADMIN USERS. THE PROBLEM IS THAT I FORGOT THE USER PASSWORDS AND I CAN'T DO ANYTHING BECAUSE THE PRINTER ASKS FOR A PASSWORD AND I DON'T REMEMBER IT... PLEASE, I NEED IT URGENTLY. I'VE ALREADY TRIED TO ACCESS THE HP SMART SETTINGS BUT I DON'T REMEMBER THE PASSWORD EITHER.

@Maria2810, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding printer issue!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Please follow these steps to try and reset your printer settings:

Reset HP Printer

  1. Turn Off the Printer: Switch off your HP wireless 415 printer.
  2. Disconnect the Printer: Unplug the printer from the power source.
  3. Wait for a While: Wait for at least 60 seconds.
  4. Reconnect and Turn On: Plug the printer back into the power source and turn it on.

Reset Network Settings

  1. Press the Wireless Button: Press and hold the Wireless button (Wi-Fi) and the Cancel button simultaneously for 3 seconds.
  2. Reset Network Settings: This will reset the network settings to their factory defaults, which may allow you to reconfigure the printer without needing the forgotten passwords.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!

Hello, sorry, I activated the printer's web server a long time ago and I don't remember the administrator password. How do I restore the printer to factory settings, not the Wi-Fi services, because I already did that option? It still asks me for a password to enter the HP Wireless 415 printer configuration. I need help, thanks.IMG_20250528_085700.jpg

Hi @Maria2810,

@zoey7886, Is not available, so I @VikramTheGreat, replying back on behalf of my colleague.

A full factory reset will erase all settings, including admin credentials, network settings, and any saved preferences. This will return the printer to its original out-of-the-box state.

How to Perform a Full Factory Reset on HP Ink Tank Wireless 415

HP does not publish full reset procedures publicly for security reasons, but here is the most effective method that typically works on the 415 model:

Try This Reset Combination:

  1. Turn the printer ON and wait until it’s in the Ready state.
  2. On the printer’s control panel, press and hold the following buttons together for about 10–15 seconds:
    • Cancel (X) + Wireless (📶) + Black Copy
  3. Release the buttons when the printer restarts or the lights begin to blink.
  4. Wait 1–2 minutes. The printer should now be reset to factory defaults.

If that combo doesn’t work, try:
Cancel (X) + Wireless + Color Copy for 10–15 seconds.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
