@ZT18, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Manual Print Confirmation on HP Printers!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If your HP printer asks for manual confirmation (with OK) for every print job, there are a few steps you can perform to troubleshoot and potentially resolve this issue:

Check Printer Settings:

  • Navigate to the printer’s control panel.
  • Access the menu and go to the print settings.
  • Verify if there is a setting for print job confirmation that can be toggled off.

Paper Size and Type Settings:

  • Manually setting paper size and type can sometimes prompt the printer to ask for confirmation. Ensure that your printer is set to automatically detect paper size and type.
  • You can look up the settings under the Tools menu. For example:
    • Press the Tools button on the control panel.
    • Select paper settings, then choose Auto-detect instead of manually setting the paper.

Adjusting Paper Settings:

1. On the Control panel, press the Tools button until the LCD asks if you want to select paper settings, then press OK/Yes.
2. Press the right side of the Tools button to select Auto-detect.
3. Press OK/Yes.

Firmware Updates:

  • Make sure your printer’s firmware is up to date, as outdated firmware can cause operational inefficiencies.

Default Paper Type and Size:

  • Ensure your printer default settings for paper type and size are configured correctly. Incorrect settings can cause the printer to ask for manual confirmation.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!

HI

TNX 4 YOUR HELP

Hi @ZT18

Thanks for getting back! And yes—knowing the model definitely helps.

With the HP LaserJet MFP M129-M134, that persistent “OK” confirmation usually ties back to paper mismatch settings—your printer thinks the paper type or size doesn’t match what’s expected.

Here’s a quick sensory fix:

On the printer panel, press the Setup (gear icon).

Scroll to System Setup > Paper Setup > Tray 1.

Set Paper Type to Plain and Size to A4 (or whatever you’re using).

Look for an option called Prompt for Paper or Paper Mismatch—turn that OFF.

Also, peek into your printer driver settings on your computer:

Go to Devices and Printers, right-click your printer > Printing Preferences > Paper/Quality tab.

Ensure the paper type and size match what’s in the tray.

Once both sides “speak the same paper language,” the OK prompt should vanish.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!

@ZT18, Thanks for the update, and you're doing great troubleshooting this so far! 🌟

Yes—selecting "No" for the Tray Size Prompt is exactly what we want. That tells the printer not to stop and ask every time it thinks the paper size might be different.

If it’s still prompting, try this extra nudge:

On your PC, go to Devices and Printers > Right-click your printer > Printing Preferences
Under the Paper/Quality tab, make sure the Paper Size and Type exactly match what’s loaded in Tray 1—like A4 / Plain.

Once both the printer and computer are in sync, it should stop asking you to press OK.

Let me know how that feels after a test print—we’ll get this sorted!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
