Hi

I wonder if you could help. I have been trying to downgrade my Officejet Pro 8610 from firmware FDP1CN2022AR to the one currently on your site (1910A)

However, whenever I try to do this I am unable to select the printer in order to downgrade the firmware. I'm guessing this is probably due to the fact that the current firmware available cannot downgrade the printer.

Is there a way around this or do I have to use a different tool?

I have seen that others have been able to successfully downgrade their printers with help from  HP Support Agents.

I would be grateful for the same assistance

Thanks in advance

Hi @BonjourHi,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Downgrading the firmware on an HP Officejet Pro 8610 printer can be challenging, especially if the firmware version you're trying to install doesn't support downgrade. However, there are a few steps you can try to attempt the downgrade:

Check Firmware Compatibility: Ensure that the firmware version you're trying to install (1910A) is compatible with your specific printer model. If it's not listed as compatible, it may not support downgrade.

Keep in mind that firmware downgrades can carry risks, including potential damage to the printer if not performed correctly. Make sure to follow any instructions provided by HP or HP Support carefully, and be prepared for the possibility that the downgrade may not be successful.

If none of the above steps are successful, it's possible that downgrading the firmware on your Officejet Pro 8610 may not be feasible. In that case, you may need to continue using the current firmware version or explore alternative solutions.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Thank you for your answer, but I don't see any new information in it.

The 1910A firmware is compatible, as it is listed on your website specifically for my printer model 8610.

The issue is that the checkbox cannot be selected in the user interface after choosing my printer in the firmware installation software, (the printer selected become highlighted in blue) and the update button at the bottom right is not highlighted.
