HI @PRABU001,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Scanning both sides of an ID card onto a single sheet using your HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M283fdw and a Windows 11 laptop involves using the scanning software to perform a duplex (double-sided) scan and then combining the scanned images into one sheet. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you achieve this:

  • Place the ID card face down on the scanner glass or in the document feeder if your printer supports it.

2. Scan Both Sides of the ID Card

Open HP Smart App:

  • Launch the HP Smart app on your Windows 11 laptop. If you don’t have it installed, download it from the Microsoft Store or HP's official website.
  • In the HP Smart app, click on the Scan button.
  • Set the scan type to Document or Photo, depending on what is available.
  • Adjust settings like color or resolution if needed.
  • Click Scan to capture the first side of the ID card.
  • Save or name this scan as the “Front” side of the ID card.
  • Flip the ID card and place it back on the scanner glass.
  • Repeat the scanning process to capture the second side of the ID card.
  • Save or name this scan as the “Back” side of the ID card.

3. Combine Both Sides into One Sheet

You’ll need to use an image editing tool or document editor to combine both scanned images into one sheet. Here’s how you can do it using Microsoft Word or an image editor like Adobe Photoshop:

Using Microsoft Word::

  • Open a new document in Microsoft Word.:
  • Go to Insert > Pictures and select the images of both sides of the ID card.
  • Resize and position the images on the page so that both sides fit on a single sheet.
  • You can use text boxes or shapes to help with alignment if needed.
  • Once both images are positioned correctly, go to File > Print to print the document or File > Save As to save it as a PDF.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
