Just got the 250 all in 1 printer and was set up and working fine.
Changed some admin settings through the HP SMART app.
the app stated it saved the settings but when it started up, the control panel screen only showed Scan to USb and Control panel tips.
No setup options in the printer screen. No way to reset anything.
Attached a usb cable to the printer and pc and ran the detect and setup from HP Smart.
Created another printer profile, but can't enable wifi.
All reset options are either via the control panel screen or the power off, hold the button and power on procedures do not work.
There are no reset options in the HP Smart app.

Hi @dcottrell6,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
Thank you for reaching out. I understand that you're unable to access the setup options or reset the HP OfficeJet 250 Mobile All-in-One Printer after changing admin settings via the HP Smart app. It’s frustrating when the display is limited to "Scan to USB" and "Control Panel Tips," especially when you need to re-enable Wi-Fi or perform a reset.
1. Power Reset (Basic Reset)
Sometimes the interface gets stuck in a restricted state.
- Turn off the printer.
- Unplug the power cable from both the printer and the wall.
- Wait 60 seconds.
- Plug the cable directly into a wall outlet (bypass power strips).
- Turn on the printer and check if the full menu options return.
If not, continue below.
2. Restoring Factory Defaults via Control Panel
If your printer's control panel is accessible, follow these steps:
- Access the Dashboard:
- Swipe down from the top of the screen to open the Dashboard.
- Navigate to Setup:
- Tap the Setup icon (⚙️).
- Printer Maintenance:
- Select Printer Maintenance.
- Restore Settings:
- Tap Restore.
- Choose Restore Factory Defaults.
- Confirm by selecting Yes.
This process will reset all settings, including network configurations and administrator credentials, to their original factory defaults.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
