                 Hello Joe_2,

I understand that you are looking to get the Wireless direct password of your printer, is that right?

Not to worry, I will be glad to assist you.

Are you able to make a copy on the printer without any issues? (This would let us know if the printer is working fine.)

Press the Wireless button and the Information button at the same time.

This would print the network configuration page of your printer.

Network configuration page will have the password for wireless direct.

If your printer is configured over a wireless network, capture the IP address of the printer from the report.

Open any browser on your computer and enter the IP Address of the printer on the Addressbar and hit enter.

This would bring up the EWS page of your printer on the browser.

On the EWS page, you can change the password of the wireless direct as well if you need to do so.

Please click here to download a copy of the user guide of your printer.

Refer to page number 62 in the user guide for the procedure to print the Network configuration page.

Let me know if this helped.

Hello Bernard42,

Thank you for the reply.

No that is incorrect.

So to be clear,  my question has nothing to do with the wifi function at all.

The printer works just fine.

As I wrote in my first post.

I want to set the entire printer back to factory settings as it would have been when it left the factory.

Regards,

Joe

       Hello Joe_2,

Here is the procedure if your printer has a touch screen :

Resetting an LCD screen printer Generally, the reset process for this type of printer is as accessible as for the two previous ones. First, display the welcome screen by pressing the "OK" button. Then click on the “Service” menu and choose the option “Restore default settings”. Confirm your choice with the “OK” button. Besides this method, there is another procedure to reset an LCD screen printer. From the home screen, access the Setup menu. Then open the "Printer maintenance" option, then click "Restore" and "OK". Then look for the “Restore factory default settings” setting and validate by clicking on the “OK” button. Your printer will then automatically restart and be reset. Put simply, resetting an HP printer is quite easy. It's all about knowing how to do it according to the type of printer you have. The procedure will indeed be different depending on this.
