My printer stopped printing in black, although levels, etc. show 'OK'. The HP Print and Scan Doctor showed the attached message. I uninstalled and reinstalled the latest driver 3 different times, and am still getting this message.  I also scanned the forum re black printing not occuring, and utilized the cartidge cleaning and alignment utilities, as well as carefully manually cleaning the cartridge. I am able to print documents if I change the color from black to red, green, etc.HP Driver.png

Thanks for your reply.  I replaced the cartridge, and everything is working smoothly.  Really appreciate all the step-by-step guidance you provided....although I didn't uninstall/reinstall drivers, I note that I hadn't been as fastidious previously in this action.  I highly recommend anyone having the same problem to follow your detailed instructions exactly.

I don't know what to think.  I can no longer print in black and there is ink in the cartridge.  I have tried every step of every troubleshooting direction.  None were successful.  Honestly, my printer is not covered under a warranty.  I am reluctant to go and buy another cartridge if I have to discard the printer.  The only changes that happen on my laptop are the Windows 10 Updates.  I know there have been recent updates.  Perhpas this did something to the printer as it was working fine until now.  There are no updated drivers for this printer.  Please, any advice at this point will be appreciated.  The ink is not cheap, and I already have a brand new color cartridge not even opened that will be wasted.  I hate to buy a black cartridge and still not have the printer not print in black.
