HP 4500 Printer and Scanner will not scan

Envy 4500 printer and scanner will not scan. Keeps saying scanner is busy, but it’s not.

Printer is correctly wireless connected and accessible.  It accepts remote laptop print jobs but will not scan from the printer's operator window and not from the wireless connected laptop.

Trouble shooting from HPSmart app says all is working correctly. Troubleshooting from the printer's control display also says all is correctly working.  What are we doing wrong?  

Also, the HPSmart feedback link does not work. Accepts all the relevant input but the send feedback link is dead.

1. Try to scan using Microsoft Paint using the option File > From scanner

2. Then you may need to apply the options for Repair and Restart to HP Smart from Windows apps features.
