Welcome to HP Forums,
This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips. Thank you for posting your query. I'll be more than glad to help you out 🙂

This looks like a software issue. To fix this issue, uninstall and reinstall the printer driver.

Use the method below to remove all existing print drivers installed on your PC:
1.) In Windows, search for and open Apps & features.
2.) Select your HP Printer
3.) Select Uninstall
4.) In Windows, search for and open Printers &Scanners
5.) In the Printers &Scanners windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose 'Delete' or 'Remove Device'
6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.
7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)
8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab
9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom
10.) Select Ok
11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows
12.) Close Devices and Printers
Once the drivers are removed, to download and install the software and driver : Click here

Same kind of issue, but a little different.

My message is "GET HOST: /DevMgmt/MediaHandlingDyn.xml HTTP/1.1".

The message is being printed on an older Deskjet 882C printer (which HP doesn't support - even though I am still buying ridiculously expensive HP inkjet cartridges for it...)

This started when I tried to change another printer (OfficejetPro 8710) on the same PC from a wired Ethernet connection to a wifi connection (which I never did successfully accomplish).  I was finally able to get it connected and working via USB, but in the process the 882C started printing these pages.

I can't take a chance right now on the 8710 not working so I am hesitant to try the removal and reinstall of the 882C until someone assures me it should work without messing up the other printer.

For now I've turned off the 882C.  Please help!!

Welcome to HP forums.

As my colleague suggested with the other case,

I recommend you delete the driver and root level and retry, follow the steps below:

1)In Windows, search for and open Programs and features

2) Select your HP Printer

3) Select Uninstall

4) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers

5) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose ‘Delete’ or ‘Remove Device’

6) Open up the run command with the “Windows key + R” key combo.

7) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)

😎 Click on the “Drivers” tab

9) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom

10) Select Ok

11) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows

12) Close Devices and Printers

Once done, follow this link and install the driver software.

Keep me posted. 🙂

BUT - as I mentioned - this is an older printer so your link for new drivers DOES NOT WORK.

Can I install a driver for this 882C printer via Win10?

@Dadman99

Follow the steps from this link and try installing the built in drivers.

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Let's try to do a root uninstall and reinstall of the software:

Unplug any USB cable, if any, before doing this.

1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features

2.) Select your HP Printer

3.) Select Uninstall

4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers

5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer.

13.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo

14.) Type c:/programdata and click Ok. Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.

15.) Restart the computer.

Once done, please download and install the software from here:

Is there not a software patch for this?  I can't uninstall, delete driver and root level and retry.

I did not buy this printer to perform hardware and software patches.  This is ridiculous that I can find internet posts on this topic going back to 2012 and you still have not fixed this?

What other solutions are there for this product flaw?
