HP OfficeJet 5258 All-in-One Printer

Hi, I am running Windows XP SP3 Home 32 bit version and I get a message half way through the install phase saying "Installation Error" A file that is required cannot be installed because the cabinet file C:\DOCUME~1\User\LOCALS~1\Temp\7zS4C8D\DJ370x86.cab has an invalid digital signature. This may indicate that the cabinet file is corrupt. The digital signature for your software could not be verified. To fix, please connect to the Internet or run Windows Update and restart the device install."

You need to disable signatures.

Bring up the command (DOS) prompt and run this command and reboot.

Bcdedit.exe /set nointegritychecks ON

DO the install then turn back off when done.

Bcdedit.exe /set nointegritychecks OFF

I had to ask google

To disable driver signature enforcement in Windows XP, while booting your computer, continuously press the "F8" key to access Advanced Boot Options, then navigate to "Disable Driver Signature Enforcement" and press Enter to select it; this will temporarily disable driver signature checks allowing you to install unsigned drivers

If the above does not work then you need to ask over at https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us
