HP 5258
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

I have an HP 5258 Printer about less than 6 months old. The other day I walked into my office and the printer had used up all of my paper and they were all over the floor. I wasn’t in there doing anything printer related the last time I left the office. Now when I go to print anything, it won’t. No error message, nothing. If I go to the queue, it’ll show all of the pages I’m trying to print.

connected with printer cable (never connected wirelessly)

-i unplugged the printer-

restarted my computer (windows 10)

-did the HP trouble shooting and it made the printer the main printer (I already had it like that)

 - how does it go from 100% working every time, to not communicating at all?

Welcome to HP support community.

Reset the printer

  1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the printer.

  2. Unplug the power cord from the power source.

  3. Wait 60 seconds.

  4. Reconnect the power cord to a wall outlet and to the printer.

Download and run HP Print and Scan Doctor
