I'm not sure if HarleyMark ever got his problem fixed but I am experiencing the exact same symptoms.  Unfortunately there is no setting for it to NOT go to sleep only settings to go to sleep in 5,10 or 15 minutes.  There is an AutoOFF setting and it defaults to 2 Hours and cannot be changed - this apparently kicks in if the printer is not connected to anything (WiFi or otherwise).  The strangest part of all this, as HarleyMark reported, is that the printer is non responsive when I press the display or the power button to try and wake it up.  Just a blue light indicating the WiFi is on.  The only way I can make it come back online is by unplugging and then plugging it back in.  I've checked the firmware, all up to date there.  I set a permanant IP figuring maybe that would help... HELP!!  😞

I ended up turning off the sleep/auto off timer in the energy settings. Have not heard of any complaints since then, Printer just stays awake all day until HP has a fix.
